Craft Scotland kindly commissioned us to create individual gifts for their reception at Edinburgh Castle, hosting the World Craft Council's visit to the city and to launch the Craft Scotland Conference that took place over the next two days.

We made some of our oh-so-popular Tetra Tech Pouches in gorgeous handwoven Harris Tweeds by Annie Mackay at Crotal Harris Tweed

But it was only when MSP Dr Alisdair Allan, Minister for International Development and Europe gave his speech that we found out that the Outer Hebrides, due to the prestige of Harris Tweed cloth, had been awarded World Craft City status.  With only one other place in Europe with that distinction, it was an accolade indeed.

We had plenty of time to celebrate in the wonderful surroundings of the castle, and on such a beautiful evening.  It was wonderful to meet and congratulate the representatives from the Harris Tweed Authority who have worked so hard to keep this amazing cloth on the world map.

And also that our beautiful Tetra Pouches were being taken back far and wide across the globe - a delightful commission to be able to fulfil.
